About the Sustainable Procurement Program

This program integrates sustainability criteria into statewide procurement price agreements, procurement processes, and other agency procurement practices. We collaborate with agencies, local governments, suppliers, and industry experts to help Oregon achieve its sustainability goals.

We find opportunities for sustainable procurement outcomes by reviewing contracts, tools, and processes. Additionally, we encourage vendors, manufacturers, and global supply chains to offer sustainable product and service options and to adopt environmentally friendly practices.

We Focus On:

  • Implementing statutes, executive orders, and rules concerning sustainable procurement.
  • Implementing, maintaining, and updating the DAS statewide Sustainable Procurement Policy.
  • Reviewing statewide price agreements and incorporating sustainability criteria into specifications, solicitations, and contract language.
  • Collaborating with the DAS Office of Procurement Equity to promote supplier diversity and inclusion.
  • Helping state agencies and ORCPP members adopt sustainable procurement practices through tools, guidance, technical support, communications, and training.
  • Reporting on the successes of sustainable procurement and tracking performance metrics such as spending, and impacts related to sustainable procurements.
  • Conducting outreach and communications efforts to engage the procurement, purchasing, and supplier communities.
