Oregon Law

What is a Law?  

Laws are the principles and regulations established in a community by some authority and applicable to its people, whether in the form of legislation or of custom and policies recognized and enforced by judicial decision. Oregon law includes decisional and statutory law and rules and regulations having the force of law.

​The Oregon Revised Statutes are published every two years.  Each edition incorporates all laws, and changes to laws, enacted by the legislative assembly.  Though not exhaustive, the following statutes directly relate to the procurement processes:

​The Oregon Administrative Rules are published on an annual basis.  A "rule" is any agency directive, standard, regulation or statement of general applicability that implements, interprets or prescribes law or policy, or describes the procedure of practice requirements of any agency. Though not exhaustive, the following rules directly relate to the procurement processes:
