Class Study Implementation
Once class studies are complete, the salary ranges are bargained, and management and unions agree on the final salary and effective dates. DAS CHRO then reports any compensation changes to the Legislature and begins the implementation of those changes. Workday updates classification plans in the system, and agencies impacted by the classification studies must review all relevant positions for proper allocation in the new or revised classifications.
This page serves as a guide for agency HR analysts performing class study allocations.
Agency Allocation Process
- Agencies first conduct a review of all positions performing the work of the new or revised classification, ensuring all PDs are up to date and signed by an appointing authority.
- Agencies receive allocation packages from DAS CHRO, which includes:
- An overview of new and revised classifications.
- New or revised classification specifications.
- The allocation spreadsheet to report all employee placements in the classification.
- The allocation review form for classification analysis.
- Agencies conduct allocation reviews and submit to DAS CHRO via email. That submission includes:
- Signed, current PD
- Current org chart
- Completed allocation review form
- Completed allocation spreadsheet
- Agencies key-in the changes in Workday (refer to Workday job aids for instructions).
Sometimes jobs are sitting on classifications, while the incumbent is performing the work of a different classification. The allocation window is a good time to correct these positions. Rather than allocating the position to the new or revised classification, submit a reclassification review with the allocation package. Reviews are conducted via the standard reclass process, which includes:
- Signed, current PD
- Current org chart
- Completed reclassification review template
