General Renewal information and Instructions
Online renewals are now the only way to renew. Please do not renew by sending documentation to the board office, or sending a check. You may pay by Visa, MasterCard, debit, or electronic check. You must renew prior to the last day of your renewal month AKA the month of your birthday in order to avoid a late fee. Late fees are assessed the first day after the end of the month of your renewal. Fee amounts are listed in the chart below.
To renew, you must go through the License Renewal tab on your portal dashboard. DO NOT assume you do not need to renew if there is no invoice. You will not have an invoice, as the payment is only at the end of your renewal. If you don't renew, you don't have license to pay for.
It is important to note, that your dashboard and
license information reflects both your renewal date and the expiration
date. Simply follow the steps. When you have completed the
renewal process and paid the renewal fees, the license will be available
for you to download and print. We will not send a copy of your renewed
license. Please note, in some cases, the board staff will need to review
your renewal before it is approved and available to print.
Inactive Renewals Must still renew at your assigned renewal date.
Continuing Education must be complete prior to the end of your renewal month. For questions regarding Continuing Education please refer to the Continuing Education Page on the dashboard on the left side of your page. Renewal dates have not and will not change. Your renewal date is the end of your birth month. You are responsible for remembering when it is time for you to renew. Your expiration, or grace period month is the first of your next renewal cycle. Any continuing education taken during this month will need to be claimed for the next renewal. Once your license or certification is open to renewal, you will notice the license renewal tab open up on your dashboard. You will need to renew through the process beginning with the renewal tab. You will not see an invoice on the invoice tab. The payment is part of the renewal process and will automatically be at the end of the renewal.
As a part of the new renewal system you will need to
upload
your continuing education certificates. You will not be able to complete
your
renewal without uploading the certificates, so please locate your
certificates
and have them available as you begin. Each training activity should have
it's own certificate. Only attach one certificate to the corresponding
entry. If a training has accreditation for multiple categories such as
general, ethics and/or cultural competency, you will enter that training
and attach that certificate for each category only claiming the
accredited number of hours.
For CSWA's, Please note your supervision reports are not the same as your renewal, they are two completely different tasks. Do not delay your renewal to complete the supervision report, your license will be late, or expire.
If you are planning to change your status, you must do that on your dash board's status change tab BEFORE you begin the renewal. If you start the renewal, you will not be able to change your status until after you renew, and you will be charged the non refundable fee for the license you renew. Allow yourself time to report any required continuing education before you renew. Change of status should be done at least a month before you renew.
Processing of Late Renewals
The online renewal process and renewal dates have not changed. All renewals will need to be completely processed in order to pay the renewal fees. YOU WILL NOT HAVE AN INVOICE DUE UNTIL AFTER YOU PROCESS YOUR RENEWAL. All licensees who are due for continuing education will need to enter and submit all activities prior to completing the renewal. Please see the continuing education page for further updates and changes with continuing education activities. If your renewal is not completed by the RENEWAL DATE, you will be charged a late fee. See the schedule at the bottom of this page for the amount of fee.
Status Change Requests
Under the new system, you are allowed to change your status at anytime. If it is your renewal time, you will need to complete the status change first, in order to pay the new status renewal fee. The status change must be approved and processed prior to starting, or accessing your current renewal. Once the renewal tab is opened or accessed, your license no longer is eligible to change until after the renewal is paid and processed.
Remember that the continuing education requirement is for the past two year period, as you are claiming for the activities you participated in during that time. Your status change will only affect the fee amount for the change period. The CE requirement will be changed going forward. If you are reactivating, or changing to a more active status, your status change will be referred to board staff for review and you will be provided with conditions of the status change. You may be asked to submit continuing education, additional fees, and in rare cases a supervision plan.
Renewal fees are not refundable, so when changing status to a status with a lower fee, you will not be refunded for the higher amount. Make sure your status is changed before renewing. For example. If you renew as active, and decide to change your status to inactive the active fee you paid is not refundable. Your next renewal will be at the inactive fee.
Your License will be on your portal available to print under the "Wallet and Wall Certificates" Tab.
Returning to Active or Semi-Retired From Inactive
Request to return to practice by submitting a status change request through your portal.
