2023 Code change tracking sheet
All BCD inspector certification holders are required to complete a code change class provided by the division to maintain their active certification. The division has prepared online training videos and supplementary materials showing the substantial changes to each newly adopted code.
2023 code change cycle
On Oct. 1, 2023, the division adopted the 2023 editions of the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code (OESC), Oregon Plumbing Specialty Code (OPSC), and the Oregon Residential Specialty Code (ORSC). Certification holders are required to demonstrate that they have completed all required code update training and continuing education for the 2023 code updates by Sept. 30, 2024.
This cycle certification holders will receive a letter with code change training instructions and a self-certification form for each code type they hold (Electrical, Plumbing, Residential Structural). If you hold two- or more code certification types, you will receive two- or more self-certification letters that are required to be sent back to the division once you have completed your code change requirement(s) so your completion can be recorded on your certification record.
Notice for plumbing: There is no training video required for the 2023 OPSC code update. Please review the summary of amendments.
