Oregon's Measurement Standards are traceable to the National Standards.
In order to meet their audit requirements, many laboratory customers regularly require information on the traceability of Oregon's measurements. Oregon's traceability is recognized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Weights and Measures Division (NIST-WMD) and is accredited by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, National Laboratory Voluntary Accreditation Program (NIST-NVLAP), Lab Code 200468-0. The measurement parameters can be found on the NIST-WMD recognition certificate and on the NIST-NVLAP website .

| What is NVLAP? |
|
NVLAP is a third party accreditation program that is in full conformance with ISO and IEC standards including ISO/IEC 17025 and Guide 58. NVLAP is a member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and has mutual recognition arrangements with the National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation (NACLA) and Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC). Laboratories accredited by NVLAP have demonstrated that their quality and technical systems are operating according to NVLAP requirements, for example: NIST Handbook 150, NVLAP Procedures and General Requirements, and NIST Handbook 150-2G NVLAP Calibration Laboratories Technical Guide for Mechanical Measurements. Examples of the NVLAP requirements can be found at: NIST Handbook 150 (2006 ed) (pdf may take a while to download)
