Ambassador Program

The Oregon Project Management Advisory Board has an Ambassador program for OPMCP graduates. The Ambassador program offers opportunities over a six-month term for a recent OPMCP graduate to learn more about the Board's goals, initiatives, projects, and acquire hands-on experience managing one of the Board's initiatives. The candidate will also gain further understanding of the state's project management and project oversight processes, and benefit from directly applying the project management skills and practices gained through the OPMCP. Only one ambassador will be selected from each cohort.

What's in it for you?

  • Grow your awareness of what the OPMAB does to promote and enhance Project Management throughout Oregon
  • Collaborate with Board members on developing new initiatives
  • Help Oregon state government with the direction of project, program, and portfolio management for all state employees
  • Enhance your state-wide project management network
  • Professional Development Units (PDUs) supporting your PMP certification

Criteria

To be considered for ambassadorship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be within six months of graduation of an OPMCP cohort, and successfully complete the program by the cohort's target graduation date.
  • Be able to commit approximately four (4) hours per month (following completion of your OPMCP training) to attend meetings, events, or manage assigned OPMAB work plan initiatives.
  • Have your manager's endorsement to participate

To Apply:

Please complete the application form at least 30 days prior to your cohort graduation. Candidates will be assessed based on the strength of their application, Project Management experience, manager endorsement, and successful completion of the OPMCP.
