Salem, OR –Today the Oregon Public Utility Commission denied a request by Industrial Customers of Northwest Utilities (ICNU), the Citizens' Utility Board (CUB) and Associated Oregon Industries (AOI) to delay new rates approved by the Commission for Portland General Electric (PGE) in Commission order UE-115 from taking effective October 1, 2001.

The Commission, in denying the stay petition, concluded the petitioners failed to show irreparable harm, and a colorable claim of error in the order.

The Commission agreed to expedite its review of the Joint Parties' request for reconsideration of the original order and will make a decision within 30 days.
