Fireworks Related Fires in Oregon

Enforcement
Enforcing fireworks statutes and administrative rules requires the cooperative and coordinated efforts of the OSFM and local fire and police officials. A POCKET GUIDE TO FIREWORKS ENFORCEMENT FOR FIRE AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS is a tool that can be used by the OSFM as well as local fire and police officials to assist in reducing fireworks related fires and injuries in Oregon. This Guide is intended as a quick reference to the policies, guidelines, and procedures which the OSFM and others use when enforcing fireworks statutes and administrative rules to assist in confiscation and storage of fireworks, inspection of retail stand/tent locations, determining types of fireworks, etc. It is not intended as a substitute for comprehensive, detailed enforcement procedures; therefore, a review of related statutes, codes, and rules is essential.

Additionally information available to local fire and police officials are fireworks toolkits. These toolkits contain information pertaining to either retail fireworks, public fireworks displays, or illegal fireworks enforcement. Please click on the Keep it Legal, Keep it Safe, Fireworks Toolkit to access the information.
