Program Overview
The 2009 legislature passed HB 3450, the Lofgren and Zander Memorial Act requiring the installation of carbon monoxide alarms in specific residential applications. Community Education is in the process of developing an education program to inform Oregonians of the requirements of the bill and to create an awareness of the importance of installing carbon monoxide alarms. The purpose of the bill is to reduce deaths and poisonings from carbon monoxide.
