Update: Police Officer Assault Suspect Captured in Pendleton

The woman sought since December 14th since being suspected of using a stolen pickup to assault a Milton-Freewater police officer was arrested Tuesday night in Pendleton.
 
On December 18, 2007 at approximately 10:35 p.m. officers from Pendleton Police Department, acting on information developed by Umatilla Tribal Police Department, located and arrested MARISSA BELLE HAWK, age 21, at a Pendleton-area motel. HAWK was arrested on a charge of providing False Information to a Police Officer, and on an arrest warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. She was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail.
 
HAWK is expected to appear in Umatilla County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. on the above-listed charges and on additional charges related to last Friday's assault.
 
HAWK allegedly used a vehicle to strike Officer Scott Hays during a felony traffic stop during early morning hours of December 14, 2007. Officer Hays sustained minor injuries and was released from St. Mary's Medical Center in Walla Walla later that day. The investigation is being continued by personnel from the Oregon State Police and the Umatilla County Major Crimes Team.
