| Update: Fatal Hit & Run Investigation - Highway 99E near Gladstone | ||

Lieutenant Gregg Hastings Public Information Officer Office: (503) 731-3020 ext. 247 A 51-year old man is in custody related to this morning's fatal hit and run crash on Highway 99E south of Boardman Avenue. The suspect's name and other information is not be released until authorized by the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office. The victim's identity is being released following next of kin notification. MARY DENISE RICHEY, age 40, from north Portland, died Wednesday morning when she was struck in her wheelchair at about 6:00 a.m. while attempting to cross Highway 99E south of Boardman Avenue. The involved vehicle was last seen southbound from the crash scene. A tip early this afternoon led investigators to the suspect vehicle, a green 1995 Ford Econoline van, in the general vicinity. The investigation is being continued by Oregon State Police with the assistance of Clackamas County inter-agency crash investigation team (CRAFT) and Clackamas County District Attorney's Office. ### www.oregon.gov/OSP ###
