Accessible Book Sources

In addition to the traditional Talking Book service and Unabridged downloadable books offered by TBABS, there are many more ways to get books online. On this page, you can find several links to websites that offer online books*.

Some sites are for books in audio format and others provide access to eBooks.

An audio book is a recording of the contents of a book read aloud. Most audio books are recorded digitally and are DRM-protected and optimized for download. Many audio books can be transferred to a portable music device like an MP3 player, or burned to compact disc.

'eBook' is short for 'electronic book', a digital version of a print book that has been optimized for on-screen reading. eBooks are available in a variety of different formats and can be accessed with most screen readers and text-to-speech software.
