Statewide budget cuts cause OPHP to close Nov. 27
Kids on dock
The current recession has reduced state revenues, and has forced the Legislature to make deep cuts. Coping with these cuts includes closing the Office of Private Health Partnerships (OPHP) and most other state agencies on 10 Fridays that fall throughout the current two-year budget period (see link to the list of closure dates below). The first closure day is Friday, Nov. 27. OPHP workers will take a mandatory unpaid furlough day. We expect online services that are normally available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be available on the closure day. We regret any inconvenience this closure may cause, and we look forward to reopening Monday morning, Nov. 30.
Applicant & Member Information
FHIAP's reservation (waiting) list
FHIAP is accepting names of people who want an application as openings in the program occur. The names are put on a reservation list. Applications are mailed in the order people put their names on the list.

Insurance at Work (Group): We are currently sending applications to people who have insurance through their employer. We estimate the wait for a group application at about three to six months.

Private Insurance (Individual): We are currently accepting names for people who want premium assistance but do not have insurance at work. Program openings rely completely on our budget. We only send applications when we have openings. Based on current budget projections it will likely be 24 months or more before we are able to begin sending out individual applications again. However, we encourage you to put your name on the list now so that you will get an application more quickly when funds are available.
