The OLCC and Oregon Partnership have teamed up in an effort to reduce underage drinking by targeting parents. Because most kids get their alcohol from home, the campaign is designed to educate parents when they purchase alcohol.
The campaign, which includes materials such as posters and bottle hangers, describes how kids frequently take alcohol from home supplies. It also reinforces the message that parental disapproval is the most important reason kids don't drink. And, it reminds adults that it is illegal to host underage drinking parties - even in your own home.
The posters and bottle hangers are initially being placed in liquor stores, but will also be available to grocery and convenience stores.
Posters
Two posters urge parents to lock their liquor cabinets and remind them that it is illegal for adults to host underage drinking parties, even in their home.
To order posters and bottle hangers, please contact the OLCC at 503-872-5133 or 1-800-452-6522, ext. 5133. Or send an e-email to andrea.mooney@state.or.us.
Posters and bottle hangers are also available through Oregon Partnership at www.orpartnership.org.
