The Heath Outcomes Subcommittee will begin developing their recommendations for changes to the Prioritized List in order to incorporate the new CPT and HCPCS codes for 2010. They will also be reviewing potential changes to the list involving the reconstruction of the tip of the nose in conjunction with cleft palate/lip, negative pressure wound therapy, Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS), the inclusion of certain lab tests, and the treatment of spasmodic dysphonia, non-specific arthropathies, large ventral hernias, and sacroiliitis. The subcommittee will also review guidelines involving solitary liver metastases, mammography, second solid organ transplants, and cystic fibrosis prenatal screening. Finally, the subcommittee will begin a discussion as to what services should be designated as value-based.

The Mental Health Care & Chemical Dependency Subcommittee will discuss peer-delivered services for chemical dependency, counseling for tobacco dependence, potential revisions to the guideline on health behavior and assessment codes, and the potential creation of a guideline for the treatment of chronic organic mental disorders. They will also be discussing how to identify value-based mental health and chemical dependency services.
