PPO - Library Structure
Library Structure

Most projects maintain an electronic directory structure to store project information. In addition many projects maintain a physical copy - hardcopy binder or filing system. It is recommended that both the hardcopy and physical copy use the same structure.

The PPO Library document (MS Word); provides instructions and illustrations for setting up an electronic directory structure, followed by instructions for hardcopy or physical library. It also includes the recommended naming conventions for documents stored in the standard structure.

The project library is organized based on the same structure as the standard project plan and schedule. Level 1 is the minimum level standard for any project. This means all projects must have and use these folders. Additional folders can be added within these folders. See Level 2 and 3 folders for projects that have a high degree of complexity. For additional information read the PPO Library document (MS Word).

The directory structure can currently be installed on your local hard drive or network by selecting the self extracting file PPO Library.exe and running the executable file. When the file is launched follow the prompts to install the directory structure.

View the PPO Library Index file for a listing of potential project document titles and their recommended storage location. Many of the titles are copies of the same document with variations of the title to aid in searching. Obviously every variant of a project document title is not listed. The intent is to help determine where project documents should be stored in the standard project directory by these examples.
