| Oregon Priorities for Authorization |
|
The Oregon Department of Transportation, working with the Association of Oregon Counties, League of Oregon Cities, Oregon Transit Association and Oregon Metropolitan Planning Organizations Consortium, has developed a set of principles and priorities for Oregon in the next surface transportation authorization legislation.

OTC Earmark Recommendations
Based on input from stakeholder groups, including Area Commissions on Transportation, metropolitan planning organizations and the Oregon Freight Advisory Committee, the Oregon Transportation Commission has recommended 22 projects to Congress as potential earmarks in the surface transportation authorization legislation. | House Surface Transportation Authorization Act Proposal |
|
The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure has released a draft Surface Transportation Authorization Act (STAA) proposal. STAA would provide $450 billion for the highway, transit and safety programs and an additional $50 billion for passenger rail.

| National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission |
|
Congress chartered the National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission in SAFETEA-LU to study funding issues and other challenges facing the surface transportation system and make recommendations to Congress. The Commission released its report in January.
