LOCATION NOTICE: DMV Headquarters and the North Salem DMV Office are separate facilities located near each other in the North Salem area.
PARKING NOTICE: Designated parking spaces are available for visitors in the parking lot directly in front of the building, and to the right of the main entrance.
PARKING NOTICE: Difficult or no parking for oversize vehicles and combination vehicles.
SERVICE NOTICE: DMV Headquarters does not handle standard DMV office transactions or collect fees.
CLOSURE NOTICE: Due to statewide cost saving measures, all DMV facilities will be closed on the following days: 10/16/09, 11/27/09, 3/19/10, 4/16/10, 6/18/10, 8/20/10, 9/17/10, 11/26/10, 3/18/11, 5/20/11.

Only the limited services defined above are available to the public at DMV Headquarters, as the facility does not include a standard DMV office. For standard DMV services, you may go to our North Salem office, which is located just four blocks away from DMV Headquarters, or to any other DMV office location.

From the North Salem DMV Office
- Exit the parking lot at the Pine St traffic signal and turn RIGHT (North) on Portland Rd.
- Continue North on Portland Rd for a few blocks and go under the railroad overpass.
- Turn RIGHT (East) on Lana Ave at the traffic light.
- Continue East on Lana Ave for about a block.
- DMV Headquarters is on the Left-hand side.
- Use the main circular driveway (has a large DMV sign) and proceed to the designated visitor parking spaces located to the right of the main building entrance.
- There is limited or no parking available for oversize vehicles and vehicle combinations.
Going North/South
- From North or Southbound I-5, take the North Salem/Fairgrounds Exit (Exit 258).
- Travel South on Portland Rd towards downtown Salem, past Highway Rd.
- Turn LEFT (East) on Lana Ave.
- Continue East on Lana Ave for about a block.
- DMV Headquarters is on the Left-hand side.
- Use the main circular driveway (has a large DMV sign) and proceed to the designated visitor parking spaces located to the right of the main building entrance.
- There is limited or no parking available for oversize vehicles and vehicle combinations.
Going West
- Travel Westbound on Silverton Rd toward the state fairgrounds.
- Turn RIGHT (North) on Lana Ave.
- Continue North on Lana Ave for about 2 blocks.
- DMV Headquarters is on the Right-hand side of Lana Ave.
- Use the main circular driveway (has a large DMV sign) and proceed to the designated visitor parking spaces located to the right of the main building entrance.
- There is limited or no parking available for oversize vehicles and vehicle combinations.
Going East
- Travel East on the Salem Dallas Highway (OR-22) toward Salem.
- As you approach West Salem, OR-22 becomes Center St.
- Proceed across the Center St Bridge (over the Willamette River).
- Once over the bridge, turn LEFT (North) on Liberty St (do not take the Portland ramp off the bridge).
- Turn RIGHT (East) on Pine St.
- Continue East on Pine St for several blocks, until it dead-ends at Portland Rd.
- Turn LEFT (North) on Portland Rd (do not go into the DMV office parking lot straight ahead).
- Continue North on Portland Rd for a few blocks and go under the railroad overpass.
- Turn RIGHT (East) on Lana Ave at the traffic light.
- Continue East on Lana Ave for about a block.
- DMV Headquarters is on the Left-hand side.
- Use the main circular driveway (has a large DMV sign) and proceed to the designated visitor parking spaces located to the right of the main building entrance.
- There is limited or no parking available for oversize vehicles and vehicle combinations.
