| General Information |
|
A Dismantler Certificate authorizes an individual to:
- Carry on or conduct the business of buying, selling or dealing in vehicles for the purpose of wrecking, dismantling, disassembling, and offering for sale the used vehicle components;
- Carry on or conduct the business of buying, selling or dealing in vehicles for the purpose of wrecking, dismantling, disassembling or substantially altering the form of any motor vehicle;
- Carry on or conduct the business of selling at wholesale wrecked, dismantled, disassembled or substantially altered vehicles; or
- Engage in the activity of wrecking, dismantling, disassembling or substantially altering vehicles including the crushing, compacting or shredding of vehicles.
Vehicles include, but are not limited to cars, trucks, motorhomes and motorcycles.

Service counter hours are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday (excluding statewide and holiday closures).
Note: Due to the added costs of merchant fees, DMV offices only accept cash or checks and do not accept credit or debit cards.

| Renewal |
|
A Dismantler Certificate is valid for three years from the date of issuance. You must reapply every three years.
To reapply, complete all of the steps in the Qualify and Apply section above.
