Disparity Study results
The U.S. Ninth Circuit Court ruled a DOT must have "compelling evidence" to justify having goals in contracts that require the use of DBEs. Therefore in January 2007 ODOT commissioned a Disparity Study to determine utilization of DBE firms on its contracts.
It is critical for Small Businesses to maintain their certification status!
If your certification lapses, it lessens your opportunities for gaining new business. Also, availability, which is a key component in determining disparity in contracting, is tracked through a firms certification.
