Volunteers help make it happen!  The Santiam State Forest appreciates and welcomes the help of citizens in improving the quality of recreation opportunities and protecting natural resources.  In 2006 volunteers donated nearly 2000 hours to the forest.

Individuals, clubs and youth groups are welcomed to apply to volunteer with the Santiam State Forest.  Opportunities include trail patrol, trail and campground maintenance, litter cleanup, removal of invasive plants, and other forest management opportunities.  There are great opportunities for Boy and Eagle Scout Projects.
