Finding your way around the Tillamook State Forest is easier with the Tillamook State Forest Visitor Map & Guide.
The map is available through the Oregon Department of Forestry for $10.00 and may also be carried by a handful of local retailers in northwestern Oregon as well.
The two-sided, full-color map is designed to meet the needs of visitors and recreationists looking for activities on the 364,000-acre Tillamook State Forest. Printed on plastic paper that is water-resistant and tear-resistant, it is folded into a 4" x 9" brochure size for easy carrying and retail display.
Some of the helpful features include a one-inch-to-one-mile scale, allowing more readable detail. Topographic contours allow users to better read the "lay of the land." Trails are color coded according to type of activity.
The backside of the map displays general forest information, forest history and a recreation site matrix and trail table, along with photos and diagrams. A more detailed map inset of the high-use Highway 6 corridor is included at a larger scale.
You can find the Tillamook State Forest Visitor Map and Guide at several Department of Forestry offices including the Forest Grove, Tillamook and Astoria district offices as well as ODF´s Salem Headquarters. Click here for a list of other vendors.
