Oregon's biodiesel mandate kicks in
Image of a country road.
The 2009 Oregon Legislature passed House Bill 3463 immediately activating Oregon's Renewable Fuel Standard to blend diesel fuel with a minimum of 2% by volume biodiesel.

As a result, all diesel fuel sold in Oregon must contain at least 2% biodiesel. This requirement does not apply to diesel fuel sold for railroad locomotives, marine engines, or home heating oil.

Current topics
Premium gasoline ethanol exemption
As of January 1, 2010, a retail dealer, non-retail dealer, or wholesale dealer may sell or offer for sale gasoline that is not blended with ethanol if the gasoline has an octane rating of 91 or above (premium). This non-ethanol premium gasoline may be sold to anyone for any purpose.
Biodiesel troubleshooting hotline
The National Biodiesel Board provides biodiesel users with a toll free number to troubleshoot fuel issues in the event that their fuel distributor is unable to assist them with issues.
Where to find gas without ethanol
Some specific applications are exempt from the mandate to use ethanol blended gasoline. The Oregon State Marine Board provides a list on their website of where to find non-blended fuel.
