Animal Health, Feeds, and Livestock ID

The major goal of the Animal Health and Identification programs is to enhance economic production of livestock.

Our three major programs work toward the following:

  • Control and eradicate animal diseases, including those transmissible to humans
  • Prevent livestock theft by denying a market for stolen animals through recording of brands and inspection of animals
  • Ensure animal feeds meet nutritional and labeling standards
