ODA awards specialty crop grants provided by Farm Bill
Photo of mint
October 8, 2008... Oregon's diverse and specialized agriculture industry is getting a boost in the form of federal dollars stemming from the 2008 Farm Bill. The money, provided to the Oregon Department of Agriculture for disbursement to successful applicants, will provide assistance to producers of mint, potatoes, grass seed, wine, and pears. To a state like Oregon, where no single commodity dominates overall agricultural production, any funds that help specialty crops is quite welcome.
