SEED Class 2 Buildings
In general, buildings smaller than 10,000 square feet are Class 2. The Class 2 SEED requirements are self-administered. The agency itself is responsible for making sure that the required energy conservation measures (ECMs) are incorporated into the building. The Department of Energy (Energy) may occasionally conduct site inspections to verify that ECMs have been installed.

1. Submit a Project Notification Form
Fill out the Project Notification Form, Class 2  and submit it to Energy. Early notification and involvement by Energy is essential is to ensure that energy efficiency is an integral part of the building design.

2. Incorporate Required ECMs into Building Design
Review the list of required ECMs, Class 2 available on Energy's Web site. These ECMs have been deemed cost effective and must be incorporated into the building design, if applicable.

If you need assistance or have questions regarding the required ECMs, contact the Energy SEED staff.
