About Us
Vision
Preconception health is the norm for Oregon women of reproductive age.
Mission Statement

To promote preconception health with women planning a pregnancy within the next 12 months.
Organization
Annual Performance Measures

In November 2007, state and county perinatal stakeholders came together to discuss priorities for perinatal health in Oregon. Implementing preconception health recommendations and interventions was identified as a top priority.

Action plan
work group with representatives from state and local public health was charged with developing an action plan for public health partners. In 2008, we released the Preconception Health Action Plan for promoting preconception health in Oregon.

A unique approach
In order to implement effective preconception health strategies in Oregon, there is a need to move beyond the usual programs and systems of care that focus on pregnant women. Successful efforts will involve implementing proven prevention interventions across a woman’s life span by involving a variety of maternal and child health programs, and communicable and chronic disease prevention interventions.
