Last month, we added 54 medical certifiers to EDRS bringing the total number of medical signers to 953! We now have 1,802 EDRS users which includes 328 funeral directors and 142 county registrar staff. The link below will open a pdf file showing a pie-chart summary of EDRS users:

How do I find out if my medical certifier is using EDRS?
You can check to see if your medical certifier is in EDRS by using the Request Medical Certification button that appears in the Other Links section of the DAVE left menu. When you click on this button, the Request Medical Certification window opens. On the first line (to the right of the "Name" field) is a search button with a downward-facing arrow. When you click this button it opens a list of all medical certifiers that are enrolled in EDRS. You can scroll down this list or type the certifier's last name to see if they are in the field. If you see a provider listed more than once, it means they are in multiple offices and you need to ensure you pick the right office for them.
If this is the first time you've sent a request to a particular certifier, you may wish to call their office and verify that they are using the system. There can be a brief period where the certifier will appear on the list but we have not yet provided training or enrolled their fingerprints. A quick confirmation phone call with help avoid these situations.

As of April 10, 2008 we have 2,200 total users in OVERS. Most of these are EDRS users and you can see the details of those in the section above. With midwives now being able to use the system there are 270 birth (EBRS) users and 128 state users. The link below will open a pdf file showing a pie-chart summary of all OVERS users:
