The Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention section is currently in the process of developing Oregon Administrative Rules for Oregon's new Menu Labeling Law. Rules will be developed for the first phase of the law which requires chain restaurants to make available, upon request, information about the calories, sodium, saturated fat, trans fat and carbohydrates for all their regular menu items.

Indoor Clean Air Act - Rules Committee 2009

Amendments to certain Indoor Clean Air Act rules are also under consideration. Under this Act, workplaces must protect workers and the public from exposure to secondhand smoke.

Programs and Initiatives
The DHS Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Program efforts are supported by funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The tobacco control program is also funded with tobacco tax revenues designated by Ballot Measure 44 passed by Oregon voters in 1996. At the current time, no state general fund revenues support these programs.

Updated 2004-2007 County-Level Data for Adults
These tables provide county-level information about chronic diseases and related risk factors among adults. These tables provide the most recent data for the combined years 2004-2007 and can be used in place of the tables in the Keeping Oregonians Healthy 2007 report (pages 128-133).
