2004 Update to the Oregon 2002-2004 HIV Prevention Plan

The 2004 Update to the Oregon 2002-2004 HIV Prevention Comprehensive Plan represents the third and last year of a statewide HIV prevention strategic plan. The original plan represented the culmination of a nearly two-year planning process begun in January 2000 by Oregon’s Statewide HIV Prevention Planning Group (SPG).

Under guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the SPG reviewed state epidemiological information, reviewed HIV prevention needs assessments, considered existing resources, and determined gaps in services. It then established priority populations, reviewed HIV prevention programs with evidence of effectiveness, and established priority programs to meet the needs of Oregon’s residents at risk of HIV infection.

If you are interested in attending any meetings of the SPG, are interested in becoming an official member of the group, have any questions about this document, or need it in an alternate format, please contact Doug Moon at 971-673-0153.
