Devils Lake Water Improvement District
The Devils Lake Water Improvement District (DLWID) monitors the water quality in Devils Lake located in Lincoln County. Please visit the DLWID Web site for more information on recreation opportunities and efforts to improve water quality.
Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife provides DHS with data related to marine algae advisories. A representative serves on our current research work group that informs HABS on emerging algae-related issues.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Portland District
The Corps monitors waterbodies formed by their civil engineering projects for the presence of blue-green algae and provides DHS with data on which we base our health advisories. Examples of Corps projects include Willow Creek, Fern Ridge, and Hill Creek Reserviors. Please visit The Corps Web site for more information on their mission and recreational facilities.
U.S. Forest Service- PNW Region
The US Forest Service monitors recreational waterbodies on Forest Service lands for the presence of blue-green algae and provides DHS with data on which we base our health advisories. The Forest Service offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities across more than a dozen different forest districts; scenic, recreation, and monument areas. U.S. Geologic Survey
The USGS coordinated with DHS during the Tualatin River algae bloom in 2008 and the data exchange partnership continues today. Their mission is to provide data and interpretation to policy makers and the public. For more information please visit the USGS Web site.
