The Enterprise promotes and protects the health of all people living in rural Oregon.
Goals
- Protect and promote the availability and access to comprehensive health services in rural Oregon.
- Promote public health excellence in rural Oregon, including ensuring regional availability of a comprehensive range of public health services.
- Promote the integration of public health and medical care by utilizing local physicians, nurses, public health professionals, mental health professionals, hospitals, and other stakeholders as community health resources.
Objectives
- Maintaining and strengthening health systems (public health, medical care, mental health, etc.) within and between rural communities, using a variety of strategies including mutual aid agreements, capitol development, pooling resources, infrastructure development and adaptation, etc.
- Adapting "best practices" in order to better support and integrate public health, medical care (including mental health/behavioral health), and other community-based organizations.
- Educating providers and larger communities on what is public health.
- Promoting and assisting communities with health care assessments, strategic planning, and community development.
- Developing models for integration of public health, prevention, primary care, mental health, hospitals, and other community organizations in rural areas.
- Integrating public health preparedness efforts into healthy community building efforts.
