Statewide Coalition

This statewide coalition is composed of members from a variety of backgrounds including diabetes educators, organizations dedicated to advocacy efforts, health care organizations, quality improvement organizations, and organizations servings communities disproportionately affected by diabetes. The mission of the ODC is "to improve the health and quality of life of Oregonians affected by diabetes". Oregon's Action Plan for Diabetes (pdf) was created in 2005.

Diabetes Data Fact Sheets

The Diabetes Data Fact Sheets highlight important information related to diabetes in Oregon. They cover five key topic areas: Disparities and Diabetes in Oregon, Diabetes Among the Uninsured in Oregon, Diabetes Complications and their Economic Impact in Oregon, Youth and the Growing Risk of Diabetes in Oregon, and Gestational Diabetes in Oregon. Information presented in the fact sheets come from a variety of Oregon-specific sources, including the Oregon Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, Oregon Vital Statistics, Oregon Medicaid Health Risk and Health Status Survey, Oregon Community Health Information Network Dataset, Oregon Healthy Teens Survey, Oregon Pediatric Nutrition Surveillance System, Northwest Renal Network, and Oregon Hospital Discharge Index. The ORDiabCoalition listserv is an electronic mailing list for
members of the Oregon Diabetes Coalition and others
interested in "improving the health and quality of life of
Oregonians affected by diabetes".

We hope that this tool enhances communication by allowing
members to send and receive information quickly and
effectively. The listserv is open for anyone to subscribe to,

and all listserv members are able to send and receive messages.

The listserv was created, and is monitored by the Oregon Diabetes Program, Department of Human Services, Public Health Division, Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Program.

The Oregon Diabetes Coalition Quarterly Electronic Newsletter is designed to keep partners and others working in the field of diabetes informed about resources, activities, and opportunities in a collective effort to improve the health and quality of life of Oregonians affected by diabetes.
