A View of Asthma in Oregon
A View of Asthma in Oregon - a periodical newsletter published by the Oregon Asthma Program from 2001 to 2008. Each issue describes  different aspects of asthma and asthma management.  (All are in pdf format)

  • Emergency Department Visits for Asthma (pdf) — July 2002 - An emergency department visit for asthma is a sign that a person's asthma is out of control. Learn what is happening in Oregon, and what can be done to keep people out of the emergency room.
  • Disparities in Asthma for African Americans (pdf) — April 2002 - While asthma is a disease that affects people of all races and ethnicities, significant racial disparities exist regarding health care utilization for asthma and the most severe consequences of asthma, such as ED visits, hospitalizations and deaths.
  • Asthma in Oregon (pdf) — October 2001 - During the past 20 years, asthma has increased throughout the United States. By looking at the percent of people with asthma in Oregon, we have learned that the same thing is happening here.
