- Oregon Arthritis Action Plan 2006 (pdf) In 1999, the Oregon Health Services received a two-year planning grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to staff an Arthritis Program that could develop population-based approaches to assess and address arthritis in Oregon. Working with the Oregon Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, the Health Services convened a diverse group of individuals and organizations to form the Arthritis Advisory Council. The purpose was to draft a comprehensive - yet practical - statewide plan to address the impact of arthritis in Oregon. This is the 2006 Plan.

- Arthritis in Oregon - 2005 Report (pdf) Results from the 2005 Oregon BRFSS demonstrate that arthritis is a major public health issue in this state. An additional 18% reported symptoms consistent with “possible arthritis” (chronic joint symptoms in the absence of diagnosis by a healthcare provider). It is estimated that over 1.3 million adults in Oregon have arthritis or chronic joint symptoms.
