Council on Health Care Interpreters


The Council on Health Care Interpreters will meet in Portland on Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 221 at the Portland State Office Building, 800 N.E. Oregon Street.

Agenda items include a report from the testing criteria committee and revised federal guidelines regarding federal financial assistance recipients and Title VI prohibition against national origin discrimination affecting persons with limited English proficiency. The committee will discuss ramifications for Oregon; guidelines are on the Web at www.os.dhhs.gov/ocr/lep.



The Council on Health Care Interpreters is appointed by the Governor and advises the Oregon Department of Human Services on developing and implementing standards for health care interpreters.
