Getting Started

This site includes information and data for 50 state measures and 41 county measures that can help local communities better understand substance use and mental health of their population. 

These measures were chosen because they are reliable reflections of what is happening among Oregonians. 

The data are collected and analyzed in a standardized way, have been reported a minimum of three years, and have an infrastructure in place to ensure continued data collection in the future. 

• The State Measures page provides three types of information. You will find a brief report that describes the measure, explains why the measure is important and displays trends over time.
  
  You can access an Excel data table of state and national data for each measure. When available, you will find an Excel file with the latest county data.
  
  
• The County Reports page takes you to the latest comprehensive county report on substance use and mental health as well as county fact sheets. 
  
  County reports include an executive summary of the data, a measure-by-measure presentation of data, endnotes that provide additional details about the data and links to other county health data.
