Funding opportunities and resources

Below is a list of local and national foundations that provide grants to community programs. This is not a complete list. Please note that by either listing a foundation or not by in no manner represents the Department of Human Services support. This information is provided as a resource to local coalitions.

Please visit the foundations' web sites for specific information on their funding objectives and guidelines. Each foundation has different guidelines and funding cycles.

Grant writing tips
While there are several sites on the web with grant writing advice, this selection will cover most aspects of the writing process. The best guidelines for writing proposals come from the funder--follow the directions.

W. Glen Boyd Charitable Foundation
Awards grants to grassroots organizations and nonprofits in Florida, Minnesota, and Oregon that focus on empowering women and children.

Oregon Community Foundation
The Oregon Community Foundation operates a Community Grants Program with regular spring and fall cycles in which applications are accepted. The Community Grants Program is intended to support a wide variety of projects that address one or more of OCF''s four primary funding objectives

Join Together
Provides funding information on a variety of issues from substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and violence prevention.

Meyer Memorial Trust
The Trust operates three grant making programs: General Purpose Grants, Small Grants, and Support for Teacher Initiatives. Specific information, including a grant application guideline for each program, is available at this web site, or in print form from the Trust office. The Trust does not provide grants, loans or scholarships to individuals, nor does it provide assistance to for-profit businesses.

Northwest Health Foundation
Their mission is to advance, support and promote the health of the people of Oregon and Southwest Washington
