Background Check Unit

The Background Check Unit, most often referred to as BCU, was created by the legislature to combine the Department of Human Services' many separate background and criminal history check processes under one umbrella. BCU provides background and criminal history check services and support to all DHS divisions for employment purposes, for those who provide services or seek to provide services to the department as a contractor, subcontractor, vendor or volunteer, or are employed by qualified entities that provide care and are licensed, certified, registered or otherwise regulated by DHS.
