Remove background color
White is the default background color of the logos posted to the templates Web page. To change to a transparent background, follow these instructions:
- Follow the instructions on the templates Web page to download and save a logo or state seal to your local drive.
- Open a document or template.
- Select Insert > Picture > From File to add the desired logo to the document.
- Click the logo once.
- If the Picture toolbar is not already active in your document, it should appear when you click the logo in step 4. If it does not appear, activate it from the View menu (View > Toolbars > Picture).
- On the Picture toolbar, click the icon entitled, Set Transparency Color, a blue and yellow pencil that looks like an arrow (to view the titles of icons in a toolbar, use the mouse to hover over the icons).
- Click once on the white background in the logo (do not click on words in the logo).
This completes the process.
Change text to white
If a document contains a very dark background color, it may be necessary to change the words in the logo to white. To do this, follow the instructions below after you've applied a transparent background (see section above).
- Right click the logo.
- Select Format Picture.
- On the Picture tab, go to the Image control section.
- Select Black & White in the Color section.
- Set Brightness and Contrast to 100 percent.
- Click OK to complete the process.
