NASPO and the George Cronin Award
Cronin Award

The National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) is a program that seeks to recognize outstanding public procurement initiatives and promote the adoption of these ideas and practices throughout the United States.

Every year, NASPO awards Gold, Silver, and Bronze "Cronin" Awards for procurement excellence and innovation.

This year, the State of Oregon, Department of Administrative Services, State Procurement Office won NASPO’s prestigious Gold "Cronin" Award for Oregon’s Information Technology Managed Service Provider (ITMSP) price agreement. This is the first contract of its kind in the nation that supplies both Project and Hourly based IT Professional Services.  It is an innovative system that provides the State of Oregon with a valuable tool for IT Professional Services that is versatile, time saving, and helps reduce cost.

Gail Carter, State Procurement Analyst and Contract Administrator for the ITMSP contract, attended NASPO’s national convention in September.  She gave a presentation to over 100 Procurement Professionals from all over the United States and accepted the prestigious Cronin award on behalf of the State of Oregon.

Also attending the conference were Oregon's Chief Procurement Officer Dianne Lancaster, who was newly installed as the President of NASPO for 2010 and State Procurement Analyst Darvin Pierce.
