What are my medical plan choices for 2007?

For 2007, PEBB offers three types of medical plans. Carefully review the plans’ descriptions and service areas to see which one best fits your and your family’s healthcare needs.

Only the full-time medical plans provide routine vision care benefits. The Part-time and Retiree plans do not include routine vision care benefits (with the exception of the Kaiser HMO and Added Choice Part-time and Retiree Plans, which covers a routine vision exam).

NOTE: Part-time employees may select any of the plans offered in their service area. Full-time employees may select from only the full-time plans offered in their service area.

Can I opt out of medical coverage?

Employees covered by another employer group medical plan (as defined by PEBB ) may opt out of medical insurance. They may do so within 60 days of their date of hire or eligibility, consistent with a qualified status change or during Open Enrollment.

Members who opt out of medical insurance must enroll in a PEBB dental plan and basic life insurance. They may also choose to enroll in any of the available optional benefits.
