The Smart Commuter Program is designed to reduce traffic and parking demand, improve air quality, and reward the efforts of employees who leave their cars at home and use transit, bike or walk to work. This program is available to permanent, temporary or contract State employees working in Salem.
Employees with a free State of Oregon employee bus pass may apply. Employees who ride the SMART bus from Wilsonville, the Airport Road Park & Ride, the South Commercial or Northeast Park & Ride Express may apply. Employees who ride in a vanpool or commuter bus may apply. Employees leasing parking or registered in a carpool are not eligible.
Program benefits include free occasional parking permits, merchant coupon book, and guaranteed ride home.
