Free bus pass:  State employees, interns, contract employees, and volunteers who work for a state agency located in the Capitol Mall can apply for a free Salem Area Transit Pass (Cherriots).  The Capitol Mall boundary is Church on the west, D Street on the north, Mill Street on the south, and 13th Street on the east.  State agency issued photo ID cards are valid as bus passes when the Cherriots annual sticker is attached to the front of the card.
   
Program benefits include a free annual or monthly bus pass and guaranteed ride home.

Discounted bus pass:  State of Oregon employees working in Salem outside the Capitol Mall area can purchase a discounted monthly Salem Area Transit bus pass by pre-tax deduction from their paycheck.  View Transit Pass application (pdf).
