Wage Claim Process
Technical Assistance: FAQs

Q. What happens after I file a claim with the Wage and Hour Division of the Bureau of Labor and Industries?

A. Your wage claim will be reviewed for completeness and to make sure the division has jurisdiction. You may be asked to provide additional information and/or evidence to support to your claim. Once your claim is accepted, a letter (notice of claim) will be sent to your former employer. If the employer disputes your claim, the claim may be assigned for investigation to a Compliance Specialist.
